Top of the programme is a celebration of the voice of the castrati
- emblematic of early music repertoire. Performers include France's
brightest young counter tenor star ... Philippe Jaroussky with the
l'Ensemble Artaserse, performing unpublished works.
Philippe Jaroussky will sing Henry Purcell's , "Songs and
Sacqueboutiers de Toulouse under Jean-Pierre Canihac together
with Modalis Ludus Ensemble, led by Bruno Boterf will interpret
a masterpiece of the Baroque - "Vespers to the Virgin"
(1610) by Claudio Monteverdi.
Other highlights include:
Elyma, conducted by Gabriel Garrido, and well known for his
flamboyant Latin America approach to the Baroque.
L'Ensemble Sagittarius with Gilles Cantagrel performing JS
Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques in: "Concerto
and Cantata" by JS Bach.
Diabolus in Musica, conducted by Antoine Guerber, a
programmme celebrating in music, song and poetry the birth of
song in the XIIth and XIIIth centuries.
Take some French chefs and put them, in the kitchen with some
American chefs. Sprinkle liberally with wine and soak in music.
