Americans in the Lot, an association under French
law, (une association loi de 1901) was founded
in 2010 by Susanna Stevens and Dana Facaros, two
US nationals living locally.
With some funding assistance from the OSS Society,
it aims to promote Franco-American relations by
carrying out bicultural projects.
It is open to all Americans living in the department.
Its first project was to translate the mission
statement of OG Emily into French for the Museum
of Resistance and Deportation in Cahors, realizing
the importance of preserving for future generations
this local heritage that will otherwise be lost.
With this in mind it co-ordinated efforts to
establish a lasting memorial to the collaborative
efforts of the Americans and French in the World
War 11 fight against the occupying forces.
This particular act of sabotage seemed the perfect
choice.
