Season of Goodwill and Christmas Cheer

‘Tis the season of goodwill …. and early snowfalls across France.
In the mood of the month here is some festive music rendered, in some of the clips, by groups participating in Random Acts of Culture, a welcome idea now starting to spread.

First off here with nine million hits on YouTube is the Hallelujah chorus from Handel’s Messiah:

or this one on the great Wanamaker Organ at Macy’s in Philadelphia:

and this from Sound of Music entertaining entraining commuters in Antwerp:

And here’s Silent Night for Christmas shoppers at a US mall:

or a more traditional Silent Night by the Thomanerchor Leipzig – Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht

and lastly with 3.7 million views an event in a cafe in Pamplona, Spain to celebrate Dia Europeo de la Opera European Opera Day in 2010:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our readers.
