“Barbarous” Slaughter at Charlie Hebdo – RIP Charb, Cabu, Wolinksi and Tignous

At least twelve people were slaughtered late Wednesday morning in central Paris when two hooded, heavily-armed Islamist terrorists stormed the Charlie Hebdo magazine’s editorial meeting and gunned down many of those present, including police bodyguards.

RIP Charlie Hebdo

RIP Charlie Hebdo martyrs

The headline picture above from a French evening paper says: Tragic bullets at Charlie Hebdo  – 12 dead.

So far four people have been positively identified among the dead: magazine editor Stéphane “Charb” Charbonnier, 47;  lead cartoonist Jean “Cabu” Cabut, 76; cartoonist Georges Wolinksi, 80; cartoonist Verlhac “Tignous” Bernard, 58.

As they fled the terrorists shouted “Allah Akbar” , the usual cry of Islamic terrorists committing atrocities and “We have avenged the ‘prophet’ Muḥammad” — the latter a reference to repeated demands from Islamic religious militants to “punish” the magazine for a series of cartoons satirising their religion and its founder, eye-witness accounts and news agencies reported.

The picture below is of the slain editor shortly after earlier death threats had been made by extremists from the same religion:

The shootings in Paris are proof to everyone we are at war, with an enemy living within, we have always seen the dangers. Now we know that the real threat is from people who have come into our societies as friends and as soon as our guard is down they commit carnage on our streets. Wake up Europe, time to smell the coffee and take war to the doorsteps of our enemy. – S T Vaughan Birmingham B14 4EA UK

I am an American who travels to France frequently. I have seen the Islamic immigrants taking over the city of Paris for decades. The tragedy is that they are violent and non assimilating people who, aside from killing French culture, are now in a holy war against their countrymen. This must stop.

May I say that we here in Kansas appreciate your people. Where would the United States be without you? Our Constitution and freedoms are largely influenced by France. Thanks, our hearts go out to you with the recent terrorist attack. I would just like to say that your country has been on the front lines in two World Wars and you are still on one. I think your country needs to respectfully tell Islam to get out while you still can. Lead the way and the rest of Europe and the world would be wise to follow. Is religion bad? Not all of them are… I’m a Christian and I believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ and The Holy Bible. France was largely Christian at one time. Times were better in the World when Europe and The USA were Christian. The Bible says return too me and I will heal your land. Vive La Francais! Seek Jesus today save your country. Don’t let your freedoms be trampled on by those that are trying to undermine your country.- Brian A Davis – From Kansas to France.

As an American living in the United States, I would like to apologize for our President and all other administration officials for not attending your rally held this week end. I know most all American people stand with your country and all others to unify against this terrorism. We are appalled no one was sent to represent America in this. Please accept my and all Americans apology. – Gordon Kraich
