More Snow and a Big Freeze Expected
More extreme cold is expected this week across much of France and conditions may cause more snow starting Wednesday December 15, just a week after a deep snowfall plunged Paris into total chaos.
Patrick Galois, a Meteo France forecaster says the week ahead: “will be dominated by freezing temperatures, and snow with the early limited intensity falls on Wednesday, becoming more active from Thursday night through to Friday” .
According to the France3TV station Patrick Galois said: “Monday and Tuesday will be cold but dry, and the early part of the week will be marked by severe frosts in the morning — between -2 and -6 ° C — with temperatures in the north expected to remain negative during the day. The first snowfalls could occur from Wednesday in central and eastern France, before moving southwards. The weather is likely particularly to hit the Massif Central and Bourgogne.
“After a lull on Thursday when there will be cold, dry weather accompanied by heavy frosts, weather complications are set to occur overnight Thursday as a weather front moves down from the British Isles, hitting the Channel shores first with driving rain but no snow.
“However several inches of snow may fall further inland together and this will be accompanied by icy conditions especially in the eastern half of the country, ” he said.
