When Is A Fence Not A Fence? When its a “Gate with Long Wings”




Latest news reports say Austria is considering building “technical barriers” along its border with Slovenia. Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner insists there is no plan to fence off  Austria, and expressing distaste for the word, told journalists: “If it is possible to avoid the word ‘fence’ from a technical point of view, then that’s fine by me.”

Her reluctance to call a spade a spade was picked up (in the video below) by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán —  rapidly becoming the hero of those in Europe opposed to the current tsunami of migration from mainly Muslim lands.
